Sensitivity Testing

- Sensitivity testing is done to know if there are certain substances that may cause hypersensitivity reactions if touched, eaten or sniffed. This reaction happens because of stimulating the immune system which then produces antibodies to attack those substances.
- Also physicians usually request this testing before giving their patients certain medications that may cause hypersensitivity reactions.
The laboratory testing that should be requested to test for sensitivity include:
- CBC
- Serum Ferritin level
- Serum Zinc level
- HbA1C
- IgE (Antibody)
