Routine and regular medical check-up is very important for diabetic patients as it is a chronic disease that must be followed up carefully and blood glucose levels must be always under control.
Also following up serum triglycerides and cholesterol levels and also serum albumin levels is a must in diabetic patients as they have high risk of developing cardiac and kidney diseases.
In case of blood sampling for serum triglycerides and cholesterol levels measurement, the patient must start fasting 10 – 12 hours before the blood sampling and patients during the fasting hours are only allowed to drink water.
