Checkup for Metabolism and Metabolic Disorders

The physician might request laboratory testing to assess the status of metabolism when certain symptoms show up like generalized fatigue that is not relieved, tremors, persistent vomiting or respiratory problems.
These laboratory tests are important for:

- Diagnosis of certain diseases
- assessment of the acid base balance status
Requirements for specific tests:

- For the insulin resistance testing, the patient must be fasting for at least 8 hours. Only drinking water is allowed.
These laboratory tests include:
- HOMA-IR test for insulin resistance assessment
- Serum uric acid levels
- HbA1C
- Serum Triglycerides and total cholesterol
