Echocardiography
- An ultrasound examination of the heart (echo) shows how well the heart is pumping and whether the heart valves are working properly, but this examination does not show whether the patient has angina.
- The examination takes 10 to 20 minutes.
Preparations necessary for this procedure:
- Please wear comfortable and loose clothing.
- Clothes, jewelry and ornaments must be removed in the examination area.
- It is recommended to explain the examination to children in advance, as the examination is very sensitive to movement, which may slow down or prevent the examination if the child moves or cries a lot.
